Town Crest Vector Restoration
The client needed a high-resolution version of their town crest for large-format printing, so I recreated the artwork as a fully scalable vector. My aim was to preserve and restore the original artwork as faithfully as possible.
The crest contains a significant amount of detail, including intricate linework, hatching, ornamental flourishes and layered shading. As can be seen in the original image, the source material was a low-quality JPEG with visible artefacts, soft edges, and areas where detail had been lost. Recreating the crest required not only tracing the artwork but also restoring missing details and reconstructing elements that were no longer clearly visible in the original file. This was all carefully redrawn by hand.
Because of the historical significance of the crest, I approached this project as a digital restoration in vector format rather than a design project, ensuring it could be reproduced at any size without losing its authenticity.
